Stephanie and Bill Harris of Salsa Steel

The New Mexico State Fair is off to a great start!

As I made my way through the Purple Gate to enter the Fair, I was greeted by the sound of steel drums being played by two of the members of Salsa Steel, a steel drum band out of Silver City, New Mexico.

The band has four members, but they split into teams of two to cover different areas of the fair. Bill and Stephanie were at the Purple Gate and the two other members of the band were at the Red Gate.

Can you name this song?

The band has been together for over 25 years, and play at many fairs- so much so their website, Music For Fairs has more details about them, as does their web page, Salsa Steel.

Watch for their concerts at the fair every day, and make sure to stop and chat with them in between sets!
