New Mexico, not only is our state beautiful, its people are awesome too.

I’ve been in New Mexico for a little under a year, and I am constantly discovering something new, ancient, cool, exciting, or breathtaking. Sometimes all at once!

In the past few months, I was lucky enough to meet and befriend Chris Burnett, founder of the podcast 10 Drink Minimum, which is a fun, open-ended conversation about a variety of topics — including what’s happening in the Land of Enchantment.

As has been reported at length, Albuquerque is an entertainment town. Netflix, NBCUniversal, and more are investing in New Mexico in a big way and it’s drawing entertainment talent from around the country. For the artists who live here, a boom is underway as creatives unite and support each other in their various projects.

Chris is a cyber security officer by day and has been a podcaster for the past fourteen years.

Chris and a few other creatives founded the Barelas Podcaster’s Guild, and if you want to know what’s up in Burque, Chris is your guy.

When you go to their website and hear the theme song, know it’s written and composed by native Burqueno and musician, Carlos the Tall.

“He’s a friend of mine,” Chris said, “and on Facebook he asked for song suggestions so I asked him to write the theme song for 10 Drink Minimum. Carlos wrote it based on what he imagined the character Chris Burnett would be like, and a theme song was born.”

We got together and did a few short videos talking about Albuquerque, and I asked Chris some pointed questions about our home like, “what’s the best microbrew in the ABQ?” and more.

Take a listen to our three-part interview, and let us know: New Mexico, what are your favorites?
